The Walnut Box is a handcrafted solid walnut case, made to present and protect a printed album rather than simply store it. Walnut is chosen for its warm, deep grain and its stability over time: it resists warping, takes a fine finish, and ages beautifully instead of looking tired. Each box is produced to order in our workshop, so the piece that reaches your client is made for their album and no one else’s.
It works equally well as the final delivery of a wedding or christening album, as a premium upgrade in a photography package, or as a long-term keepsake that sits on a shelf rather than in a drawer.
Solid walnut wood throughout, finished to bring out the natural grain and colour variation of the timber. Because walnut is a natural material, no two boxes are identical — grain pattern and tone vary slightly from piece to piece, which is part of the character of the product rather than a defect.
The wood is sanded and finished so that the surface is smooth to the touch and safe against the album cover, with no rough edges that could mark linen, velvet or leather.
The box is built and finished by hand:
- Available in three sizes, each with two depth options, so the box can be matched to both the format and the thickness of the album it holds.
- Corners are joined and finished for strength, so the box holds its shape under the weight of a full album.
- The interior is dimensioned so the album sits securely without being forced, and can be lifted out without a struggle.
- Each box is made to order, not taken from stock.
Match the size of the box to the format of your album, and the depth to its thickness. An album with more spreads needs the deeper option; a slim album sits better in the shallower one.
