How to Place an Order – Step by Step
A short guide to ordering an album on our website, from choosing the size to completing checkout. The options you see vary slightly from product to product, but the steps are the same.
The step-by-step instructions are available to registered partners. Log in to your account to see them.
Ordering & Partnership
Who can order from McLeod Albums?
McLeod Albums works with professionals on a B2B basis. To place an order, you’ll need a partner account – register via My Account and our team will review and approve your application. (If you do not enter your VAT number, you will be invoiced with a retail sales receipt.)
How do I become a registered partner?
Create an account from the My Account page, agree to our terms, and submit your registration. Approval is manual and typically confirmed within a few business days. Once approved, you’ll have full access to pricing and ordering.
What is a spread?
A spread is the two facing pages you see when the album lies open – the left page and the right page together. In our layflat albums each spread is printed as one continuous piece, so a photo can run across both pages without a break in the middle.
One spread = 2 pages. An album with 20 spreads has 40 pages.
Our albums are counted in spreads, not pages: the base price includes a set number of spreads, you choose the total with the “Total spreads” option, and you upload one file per spread, at the spread size shown next to each album size (for example 30x60cm for a 30x30cm album).
How can I change my account details?
You can change all your details yourself from My Account:
- Company name, billing address, phone and VAT number: open Addresses and click Edit under Billing address.
- Shipping address: open Addresses and click Edit under Shipping address.
- Name, email address and password: open Account details.
Changes apply to your next orders. To change the details of an order you have already placed, contact us.
Production & Shipping
How long does production take?
Production time is typically 5–12 business days from order confirmation to dispatch, depending on the product and the options you’ve selected. During peak periods, such as the Christmas season, production may take longer – we’ll let you know if a delay is expected for your order.
What is the “Project Name” field for when I upload my photos?
When you upload your album photos, you’ll see an optional Project Name field before the upload area (for example, “MARIA”). As a wholesale partner you may have several albums moving through production at the same time, often in similar sizes and materials, so an order number alone can be hard to keep track of in day-to-day conversation. Giving the order a short, memorable name – usually the client’s name or the event – gives both you and our production team a shared, easy-to-recall reference point whenever we’re in touch about that specific order, whether by email, phone, or WhatsApp. It’s entirely optional: if you leave it blank, we’ll simply refer to your order by its order number as usual.
What are the shipping costs?
For Greece, shipping is free on orders over 99€ (6.90€ otherwise) via ELTA COURIER. For the rest of Europe, shipping is free on orders over 199€ (19€ otherwise) via DHL. See our Shipping Policy for full details.
Do you ship outside Europe?
Please get in touch with us directly to discuss shipping options and costs for destinations outside Europe.
Returns & Order Changes
Can I return or exchange a product?
Because every album, box and print is custom-made to your exact specifications, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges on personalised orders. The only exception is a manufacturing defect or an error on our part – in that case, contact us and we’ll make it right at no cost to you.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Since production begins shortly after your order is confirmed, please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change. We’ll do our best to accommodate changes before production starts, but we can’t guarantee changes once an order is in production.
Payments & VAT
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept direct bank transfer and credit/debit card payments via our secure Viva.com checkout. See our Payment Methods page for details.
Do you charge VAT for EU business customers?
Businesses in other EU countries can be invoiced without VAT under the intra-EU reverse charge. Add your VAT number at checkout, or send it to us: we check it on the official EU VIES database and then activate VAT exemption on your account. From that moment every order you place is invoiced without VAT, so there is nothing else for you to do at checkout. Orders within Greece always include Greek VAT (24%), and orders shipped outside the EU are invoiced without VAT.
I did not enter my VAT number when I registered. How can I add it?
Log in and go to My Account, open Addresses and click Edit under Billing address.
Type your number in the VAT Number field and press Save address. It will be used for your next orders.
Without a VAT number we issue a retail receipt instead of an invoice. If you have already placed an order without it, contact us as soon as possible so we can issue the right document.
Customization
What materials are available for covers?
Depending on the product, you can choose from genuine leather, artificial leather, linen and velvet covers in a wide range of colours, along with personalisation options such as embossing, foil stamping and your business logo. Each product page shows the exact materials and options available for that item.
Can I order a design that isn’t shown on the website?
Of course! We are always here to discuss your needs and help you create exactly what you have in mind. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us – we’ll be happy to talk it through with you.
Can I get a quote for a large or fully bespoke order?
Absolutely – contact us with your requirements and we’ll put together a tailored quote for you.

Album Designer
What is the Album Designer?
The Album Designer is our free online tool for registered partners. You lay out your album spread by spread in your browser, send your client a private link to review and approve the design, and keep the design in your account until you are ready to order. There is nothing to install, and you do not have to choose the album or cover before you start designing.
The step-by-step instructions are available to registered partners. Log in to your account to see them.
Your Client Preview
What is Your Client Preview?
Your Client Preview lets you send your client a private link to our site. Through that link your client browses our albums, boxes and prints, chooses the product and all its options (size, cover material, personalisation and so on) and sends the choices back to you. Your client never sees any prices, does not need an account, pays nothing and cannot place an order. Their choices arrive in your account, and you decide what to order. The service is free for all our registered partners.

Studio Samples (DEMO)
What is a studio sample?
A studio sample is an album or a box that you order for your own studio, to show to your clients. It is made exactly like a normal order, with the same materials and options, and it carries a DEMO stamp on the back. A sample costs 25% less than the full price.
How do I order a sample?
- Log in to your partner account.
- Open the album or box you want and choose your options as usual. For an album, upload your photos as in any order.
- Tick “Order as a studio sample (DEMO stamp on the back)”, just above the Add to cart button. Under it you can see how many samples you have left for the year.
- Add it to your cart. The line is marked Studio sample and the reduction appears in the totals as Sample discount.
How many samples can I order?
Up to 4 sample albums and 4 sample boxes per calendar year, for each partner account. Albums and boxes are counted separately. The count starts again on 1 January, and cancelled orders are not counted. When you have used all your samples for the year, the option is shown but cannot be ticked.
Which products can be ordered as samples?
All Layflat Albums and Vintage Albums, and four boxes: Basic Box, Classic Box, Genuine Leather Classic Box and Walnut Box. Other products cannot be ordered as samples.
Is the sample price combined with my partner discount or the copies discount?
No. The sample price is 25% off the full price and replaces your partner discount for that product. A sample is also not counted as a copy, so it does not take part in the copies discount.
Why should I keep samples in my studio?
Clients choose what they can hold. With a sample on the table they see the paper, the cover and the way the pages lie flat, and it becomes much easier to offer an album with every package. See Why Albums for more.
